Sure, Come on in... H1N1

Brant woke up Wednesday morning with the sneezies. I hadn't thought too much about it considering he didn't have a fever and was completely happy!

As the day progressed he got worse and worse, but still no temperature. We was getting cranky and didn't sleep well that night.

When he woke up, he was burning and flushed! We took his temperature and it was around 101. We called HealthLink (even at 630 in the morning had to wait 45 minutes!!) and were told to get him checked out by a doctor.

We had him checked out and were told there was a good chance it was H1N1, although he can't conclusively say it is Swine Flu until a swab is done, but that would take 2 weeks and by then he would probably be over it.

We have been given anti-viral drugs for him and keeping him medicated with Tylenol. He still seems in pretty good spirits, still crawling all over and giggling, but still running a slight fever!

We have been told to monitor his breathing to make sure it doesn't become laboured and if it does to take him to the Emergency room! Which we hope doesn't happen!

Colin and I haven't been affected yet, but I'm not too entirely sure we won't be sick in the near future. I'm quite sure because of our closeness with Brant, chances are we will get it!

As for now, Brant's crawling around like crazy and even enjoyed a little time in his jumper!
Well, time for a bum change and a temperature check!
See you all soon!

Family Photo Shoot

This past week, we had the priviledge of having someone come and do some family pictures for us!
We had such a great time and Brant for the most part was a doll!
We are in LOVE with our pictures and the lady who did them did a fantastic job!
We are excited to print them off and share them with everyone!
There is nothing new and exciting happening in our house this week, Colin is getting ready to apply for Pharmacy up in Edmonton and I'm scheduling myself at the hospital once a week. Brant is still crawling and getting pretty good at balancing on his own for a few seconds. We are expecting him to start walking by his birthday in December.
We are starting the de-cluttering around here! We have gotten rid of the big desktop and have gotten ourselves laptops. So we will be able to turn our computer desk into a sewing table! I'm pretty excited about that!
Other than that, there isn't too much going on here. Will most definately keep you guys in the loop should something exciting happen!

Back to work...

Well last night was my first night back to work at the hospital!
It wasn't completely uneventful, but uneventful enough for me! It amazing how much I have forgotten in a year! And everything has changed in regards to processing, but at least one thing hasn't changed... phlebotomy!! So I tried to at much collecting all night as I could! It was pretty nerve racking as I haven't collected anything in a year! I was on the verge of shaking! But I did pretty good, and only missed one! (This is a little maddening, considering I was one of the best!)
Thankfully not too much else has changed with entering specimens in the computer either so I was able to enter PAP's all night!
I hope next week goes better, I was almost completely useless and clueless! But it was nice to have a break for the night!
Colin did well! Brant took a nap from 230 to 500 so he wasn't going to bed at 7! We are trying to get him ready for the time change, so putting him to bed late is great! The only downside is, he doesn't sleep in!
Off for another day here in the Anderson home, hopefully I'll get to the grocery shopping and laundry!! :S!

Thanksgiving...

This Thanksgiving, Colin and I decided to have his brothers, sister and new sister-in-law up for dinner.
We had a great time and I was grateful for the opportunity to actually cook and turkey myself!
We have a wonderful time catching up, chatting about school, work and other things. And at the end had a great dinner! Well all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and Brant LOVED his first Thanksgiving turkey!
Afterward we went for a walk throughout the trees behind the college, it was cold but everyone had a good time!
Enjoy the pictures!

I think I've finally got it!

This is the first time ever blogging and I'm not quite sure what to write, seeing as this will be public and anyone can read it, I better not put anything embarrassing!
I started this mainly for me to keep track of the new things happening in our family because I HATE handwriting in a journal! So now that I have this down, I need to keep this updated!
