Brant woke up Wednesday morning with the sneezies. I hadn't thought too much about it considering he didn't have a fever and was completely happy!
As the day progressed he got worse and worse, but still no temperature. We was getting cranky and didn't sleep well that night.
When he woke up, he was burning and flushed! We took his temperature and it was around 101. We called HealthLink (even at 630 in the morning had to wait 45 minutes!!) and were told to get him checked out by a doctor.
We had him checked out and were told there was a good chance it was H1N1, although he can't conclusively say it is Swine Flu until a swab is done, but that would take 2 weeks and by then he would probably be over it.
We have been given anti-viral drugs for him and keeping him medicated with Tylenol. He still seems in pretty good spirits, still crawling all over and giggling, but still running a slight fever!
We have been told to monitor his breathing to make sure it doesn't become laboured and if it does to take him to the Emergency room! Which we hope doesn't happen!
Colin and I haven't been affected yet, but I'm not too entirely sure we won't be sick in the near future. I'm quite sure because of our closeness with Brant, chances are we will get it!
As for now, Brant's crawling around like crazy and even enjoyed a little time in his jumper!
Well, time for a bum change and a temperature check!
See you all soon!
Colin, Meghan & Brant!

My sister is living with us until November and her 12 year old son has it and is quarenteened into a bedroom for 5-7 days. Last night Mady started getting a fever and woke up with 101 temp this morning so I took her in and she's on meds for it. Good times!!!!
oh and don't call the Health Link. All they ever do is tell you to go to a doctor. I've called 3 times and thats all they ever tell me is go to a doctor so I stopped calling and just go to the doctor.
